Quick Turn at Augsburg (EDMA)

Flight-ready reset between legs—cabin, lavatory, galley and a waterless exterior wipe, done inside your slot

Quick Turn at Augsburg (EDMA) keeps super-midsize and larger business jets presentable between back-to-back legs when a full wash is not on the schedule. We vacuum the cabin, reset the lavatory and galley, clean cockpit and passenger windows inside, and wipe down the nose, leading edges and entry zone with a waterless solution—all inside 45 to 90 minutes. The work is timed to fit your ground stop, whether you are dropping passengers, refuelling or waiting for the next departure slot.

What changes at Augsburg?

Augsburg sits at 1515 feet elevation, seven kilometres north-east of the city centre. The single runway, 07/25, runs 1594 metres, and traffic is almost entirely general and business aviation with no scheduled airline service. That means ramp access follows business-aviation rhythms rather than airline waves, so turnarounds can usually be slotted without waiting for a stand to clear.

The airport operates Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 21:00 local, and Sundays and public holidays from 09:00 to 21:00. Any movement outside those hours requires a chargeable prior-permission request, so if you need an early-morning departure or an evening arrival with a Quick Turn, the PPR must be arranged with the airport in advance. Customs and border-police clearance are available on site, so international arrivals can clear directly at Augsburg without a diversion.

Hangar space exists—heated and unheated sheds of 75 by 25 metres and 75 by 20 metres, plus a business-aviation hangar added in 2014—but free slots are sporadic. We plan every Quick Turn as an apron job unless you have confirmed indoor access. Augsburg Air Service runs a maintenance base on the field with several hangars for Embraer, Citation, Beechcraft and Hawker types, so aircraft in maintenance are a recurring presence and hangar availability reflects that workload.

Why book a Quick Turn between legs rather than waiting for the next deep clean?

A full exterior wash and cabin detail may be scheduled every two or three weeks, but the aircraft still picks up dust, fingerprints, galley spills and lavatory wear on every leg. A Quick Turn resets the passenger-facing surfaces—cabin carpet and seats, galley counters, lavatory sink and toilet, windows—and removes the visible grime from the nose, leading edges and entry door. The result is a cabin that looks cared-for and an exterior that does not broadcast the last three sectors.

For charter operators and fleet managers, the Quick Turn is the interval service that keeps the aircraft presentable without eating into the schedule. We work to your block time: if you have 90 minutes on the ground, we use 90 minutes; if you have 45, we prioritise the cabin and the entry zone and leave the rest. The scope flexes to match the turnaround, and the booking can be standing—every Thursday inbound, for example—or called in on the day.

What does the waterless exterior wipe actually clean?

We apply a polymer-based rinseless solution to the nose, the leading edges of the wings and horizontal stabiliser, the engine nacelles and the area around the entry door. The solution lifts dust, light oil residue and exhaust staining without water runoff, so it works on the apron under time pressure. We wipe with microfibre cloths in one direction—never circular—to avoid scratching, and we finish with a separate dry cloth to remove any streaks.

The wipe is not a substitute for a full wash, but it removes the film that builds up between proper washes and makes the paint look dull. On a white fuselage the difference is immediate; on darker colours the improvement shows in the leading edges and around the engines, where soot and oil concentrate. If the belly or the gear bays are heavily soiled, we note it in the report but do not attempt to clean them during a Quick Turn—they need a proper wash with the aircraft on jacks or over a pit.

How does the cabin reset work when the aircraft is only on the ground for an hour?

We board as soon as the previous passengers have deplaned and the flight crew have cleared us to enter. One technician vacuums the cabin carpet and seat cushions while another wipes down the galley counters, empties the bins and restocks with your supplies—napkins, cups, bottled water, whatever you have left on board or provided in advance. A third technician resets the lavatory: clean the sink, toilet and mirror, restock paper and soap, empty the waste bin and spray a neutral scent to clear any odour.

Cockpit and cabin windows are cleaned inside with a streak-free glass solution and microfibre cloths; we do not touch the outside of the cockpit glass during a Quick Turn because it requires a ladder and adds ten minutes. If there are visible fingerprints or smudges on cabin sidewalls or overhead bins, we wipe them down. If a seat has a fresh spill, we blot it and note it in the report; anything that needs extraction or a stain treatment is flagged for the next deep clean. The goal is to leave the cabin ready for boarding, not to solve every cosmetic issue on the aircraft.

What documentation do you provide after a Quick Turn at Augsburg?

Every Quick Turn closes with a digital report: timestamped photos of the cabin before and after, a checklist of the work completed, and notes on anything that needs attention—a stain we could not lift, a bin latch that is loose, a galley drawer that will not close. The report goes to the email or WhatsApp number you provided at booking, usually within an hour of the work finishing.

If you are running a fleet program with recurring Quick Turns, the reports stack into a service history that shows the interval between deep cleans and flags patterns—say, a galley counter that stains easily or a lavatory seal that leaks. That history is useful when you are planning the next maintenance input or negotiating a lease return. For one-off work the report is simply a record that the aircraft left Augsburg in the condition you expected.

Can a Quick Turn be added to a turnaround that was not planned in advance?

Yes, if we have a technician available and the airport is open. Augsburg's daytime-only schedule means that any arrival or departure outside 07:00 to 21:00 (09:00 on Sundays and holidays) requires a PPR, so last-minute evening work is only possible if the airport has already granted the permission. Within operating hours, call or message as soon as you know the inbound time and the planned ground stop; we will confirm whether we can meet the aircraft and what scope is realistic given the time available.

For aircraft that operate into Augsburg regularly—once a week, once a month—we recommend a standing Quick Turn order tied to the schedule. That way the work happens automatically, the pricing is fixed, and you do not have to remember to book each time. The standing order can be paused or amended with 24 hours' notice, and it can be combined with a monthly or quarterly deep clean so that the aircraft never goes more than a set interval without a full detail.

Questions operators ask about Quick Turn at Augsburg

How long does a Quick Turn take at Augsburg?

Between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on aircraft size and the scope you need. A super-midsize jet with a straightforward cabin and a clean galley typically takes 45 to 60 minutes. An ultra-long-range aircraft with a multi-zone cabin, a full galley and two lavatories will run closer to 90 minutes. We tailor the scope to fit your ground time.

Can you work on the apron at Augsburg, or does the aircraft need to be in a hangar?

We plan every Quick Turn as an apron job unless you have confirmed hangar access. Hangar space at Augsburg is limited and often occupied by maintenance work, so we assume apron access. The waterless exterior wipe and the cabin reset both work outdoors. If you do have a hangar slot and want us to work inside, let us know at booking.

What if the aircraft arrives outside Augsburg's operating hours?

Movements outside 07:00–21:00 (09:00 on Sundays) require a chargeable PPR from the airport. If your arrival or departure falls outside published hours, the airport must grant prior permission and will charge for the extension. Once the PPR is confirmed, we can schedule the Quick Turn. Without the PPR, we cannot access the apron.

Do you bring your own supplies, or do we need to provide them?

We bring all cleaning solutions, microfibre cloths and equipment. For galley and lavatory restocking—napkins, cups, bottled water, soap, paper towels—we use whatever you have left on board or whatever you provide in advance. If you want us to supply consumables, we can arrange that at booking for an additional cost.

Can a Quick Turn remove a galley stain or a lavatory odour that has been there for days?

We can often improve it, but deep stains and persistent odours need a full detail. A Quick Turn includes surface cleaning and scent neutralisation, which handles fresh spills and everyday wear. If a stain has set into the galley laminate or a lavatory seal is leaking and causing odour, we note it in the report and recommend a deep clean with extraction and sealing.

How do you clean the windows without leaving streaks?

We use a streak-free glass solution and clean microfibre cloths, wiping in one direction. The solution is alcohol-based and evaporates quickly, and we finish with a dry cloth to remove any residue. Cabin windows are cleaned inside only during a Quick Turn; exterior cockpit glass is not included because it requires a ladder and adds time.

What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule a Quick Turn at short notice?

Call or message as soon as you know; we will move the booking if we can. If the cancellation comes more than two hours before the scheduled start, there is no charge. Inside two hours, we may apply a call-out fee if the technician is already en route. For standing orders, you can pause or amend with 24 hours' notice.

Do you coordinate with Augsburg Air Service or the other maintenance providers on the field?

Yes, if your aircraft is in maintenance and you want a Quick Turn added to the visit. Augsburg Air Service runs a busy maintenance base on the field, and aircraft in for scheduled work often benefit from a Quick Turn before they return to service. We coordinate timing and hangar access directly with the maintenance provider if you arrange the introduction.

Can a Quick Turn be combined with a full exterior wash on the same visit?

Yes, but the combined work will take longer than a Quick Turn alone. If you have the ground time, we can start with a full exterior wash—including belly, gear bays and all brightwork—and finish with the cabin reset. The total duration will be two to four hours depending on the aircraft, so it suits a longer maintenance stop or an overnight.

Is the waterless wipe safe for all paint types and vinyl wraps?

Yes, the solution is pH-neutral and safe for OEM paint, vinyl and polished metal. We have used the same rinseless formula on everything from factory white to custom wraps and bare-metal brightwork without any reports of damage. If your aircraft has a special coating or a recent repaint and you want us to test a small area first, we can do that before starting the wipe.
